Oxfam is an organisation many have probably heard of in some way shape or form. Recently, their Make Trade Fair campaign released a series of photographs involving famous musicians getting select crops dumped on them; the people involved Alanis Morisette, Chris Martin, Thom Yorke, and others calling for an end to the unjust dumping of low-cost crops in underdeveloped nations. Oxfam strives to help people help themselves, and is an organisation that is very dear to me. |
Amnesty International is a global movement campaigning governments worldwide to respect international human rights laws. AI is free of ties with any organised religion, political ideology, or national governments; their simple goal is to end persecution with political and ideological motivation. |

Whether with you agree with their somewhat aggressive forms of action against the world's environmentally unfriendly corporations and governments, it's impossible not to agree with Greenpeace's goals. Ending the nuclear age and the usage of genetically-modified crops, as well as promoting sustainable development, and the protection of the planet's oceans and ancient forests are all goals that we can all work towards together, regardless of political standing. |
Just when Canada was reaching a point at which it was becoming one of the most forward-thinking, socially-accepting nations on the planet, a Conservative government was voted in for all the wrong reasons. And now, with Harper and his Conservative Party in control, Canada faces the possibility of regressing back into a religious state. Ensure that your country knows that you don't want to live in an unaccepting country, and support the retention of marriage rights for Canada's homosexual community. |
