Note to visitors using Norton Internet Security and Internet Explorer::
This software, unfortunately, is a pile of shit, and considers the Travels section unsafe. While I am doing my best to get around this program flaw, please do the following if you are having problems:
1) Right click the Norton icon in your system. It should look like a little yellow globe with a black checkerboard pattern on it. Select Disable Norton Internet Security. A window should pop up, asking you how long you want to disable it for. I suggest choosing "Until next restart."
2) Boycott Symantec products. And Internet Explorer, too.

I promise that I'm almost done with these updates from China. I know, there's been a lot of them, but only the following one or two updates will contain work from there. Seriously! But down to business. There's a lengthy travel diary from Hong Kong, which is full of loads of fun little tidbits about train travel in China. Definitely one of the more interesting days in transit I'd ever had. That one's in the Travels section. There's also a bunch of photos from Hong Kong online, as well! June 22 was evidently a highly productive day for me, and everything just seemed to turn out right. First up is a gallery called Sky Scraping, which features some skyward shots of a bunch of the skyscrapers (notice the recurring theme here?) on Hong Kong Island. After that, we've got Afterglow, which documents our trek to the top of Victoria Peak. Shamefully, I have to admit that the sunset photos in that collection were taken from the McDonald's at the top of the mountain. How come they get the best vantage point of the other end of the island? Last is Activism, Finally, which was my collective sigh of relief. The gallery contains a bunch of night shots of the Hong Kong skyline, but, most importantly, is the final shot of a little statement directed at the police. It was nice to see someone speaking out after encountering a nation so restrictive and so brainwashed. All of those shots can be found in the Photography section. Cheers!

January 13, 2007::
Happy New Year to everyone! I would hope that all of your hangovers have ceased by now, as mine certainly have. With the liver in full recovery mode, I decided it was high time to update, and it's definitely a big one this time around. First up is a travel diary that I wrote from Yangshuo, and it's certainly full of more details than the last couple of entries. That can be found in the Travels section. Additionally, I gave the Photography section a minor cosmetic upgrade that people with slow internet connections will appreciate; the section's been divided by year, so everything loads a little quicker. On top of that, there's three new galleries up for your viewing pleasure. Threeponds features some shots from the tiny river-side village of Liugong. The shot of the brick path was actually available at Exquisite Energy. One For Monk is from the made-for-tourists city of Yangshuo. And When I Fell is the first of many collections from Hong Kong, with a bunch of shots from the Kowloon area. Do enjoy them; they can be found in the Photography section.

December 15, 2006::
It's been a big couple of weeks since we last spoke. First of all, Exquisite Energy was a big success! Thank you to everyone that made an effort to come check out the show, and an even bigger thank you to everyone that bought a photo, made a donation to Children of the Golden Triangle, or even just came up to share your travelling experiences with us. For those of you in the Vancouver area, we still have a limited amount of photos available, so please drop me an email (webmaster [at] number1alien.com) if you're able to come to either Burnaby or White Rock to pick up a photo; we won't be shipping anything out, so please don't ask. In other news, I've got a nice, tasty update from China. There's a brief travel diary that I put together in Chaolong, which I like to call the most insect overrun village on the planet. That can be read in the Travels section. Additionally, I added a couple of photogalleries. One is from Chengdu, entitled Zen; all the shots here were taken at a monastery/temple-area-turned-city-park. The park is actually home to this amazing vegetarian restaurant where they imitate all sorts of foods with meat. Probably the most creative dining experience I've ever had. Also, there's a gallery called I Can't Ride A Bike. Relatively self-explanatory; the title was the reason I went out and took the photos that I took. The tenth shot in this gallery was actually featured in Exquisite Energy! Those photos can all be checked out in the Photography section.

November 27, 2006::
It's a really minor update, but I finally changed my photo on the Biography page (courtesy of Mr. Jared Euverman). I got rid of most of my hair at the very start of October, so it's about time the picture correlates, right? Besides, it's the best picture anyone's gotten of my earring.

November 23, 2006::
It's time again for your bi-monthly update (am I lazy, or what?)! A new travel diary written from Chengdu is online; it's a pretty lengthy one, so you might want to go check out the Travels section for that. I've also got a bit of an animal theme going on for the new photogalleries; gallery the first is entitled Camels and Yaks, and has some photos of, well...camels and yaks, unsurprisingly. That was a part of the long driving day discussed in the travel diary; the shots weren't actually taken in Songpan, but I never thought to inquire about where we actually were. Oh well. The other gallery is called Pandas, and, well...you know what's in it. Suffice to say, the pandas are truly adorable. If you ever get a chance to go to the panda conservatory in Chengdu, make sure you go in the morning, when the pandas are actually mobile and eating. Their mannerisms are quite remarkable; they're very human at times. Those galleries can be found in the Photography section. Lastly, a reminder that Exquisite Energy will be running at Simon Fraser University's Burnaby campus from December 4 - 9 in the Academic Quadrangle building. Our location, hopefully, will be by the coffee stand, which is conveniently placed next to an ATM (no excuses for not having enough money to pick up a print or two!). Until next time..

November 8, 2006::
Things have been pretty busy for me lately. Since we last spoke, I jaunted on over to Fergus, Ontario to spend some time with my girlfriend, as well as get a few more photos on the old memory card. There's some great shots that I was able to put up, but, at this rate, they won't be online until February. I'll try and make up for that. Anyhow, I've got a new travel diary from Songpan online, which can be seen in the Travels section. Also, there's a couple of corresponding photo galleries; Secret Service, which is a small collection of drunken night photography, and Solace, which was taken on a gruelling, but highly satisfying, hike up to the top of a mountain behind the town of Songpan. Those can be seen in the Photography section. Lastly, I've got my very first photography exhibition scheduled! Exquisite Energy will take place at Simon Fraser University's Burnaby campus from December 4 - 9, 2006, and feature my photography from Tibet and China, as well as Fraser Nelson's from Thailand. More details will surface soon, but make sure you bring your cash; prints will be available for sale for $15 and $20, with proceeds going to charity. I'll keep you all posted, I promise.

October 15, 2006::
I've been meaning to do it for months upon months, but I finally revamped the External section, and made it more comprehensive and organised. There's sections for recommended literature (all non-fiction, of course), music (obviously), film (the whimsical, the politically-motivating, and a couple others), social activism (a group of various NGO's which I encourage all of this website's visitors to check out, support, and donate to), and other inspiring artists. Enjoy.

October 12, 2006::
More work from Tibet is now available for viewing (four months later!)! There's a travel diary written from the village of Taksanglhamo, which can be read in the Travels section. On top of that, there's a couple of brief galleries for viewing. The first is called Yellowhat, and features a couple of shots of some 'yellow hat' sect Buddhists chanting mantras and subsequently throwing away their boots (I know, pretty cool sounding). The other is entitled Pad Me Hum, as in the Buddhist mantra, 'om mani pad me hum'. Featured are my wicked(ly terrible) attempts at growing facial hair, as well as a couple of scenery shots that still send shivers down my spine (and make me want to return!). Those galleries are available in the Photography section. Cheers.

September 26, 2006::
It's been a while, I know. Apologies. This stuff is worth waiting for, though. The first order of business is a new travel diary from Labrang, Tibet. I can say, unwaveringly, that this was one of the best days of my life. That can be found in the Travels section. Additionally, there's a photogallery, a little something I call Air. This gallery is a little less coherent than Chuck Jetsam was, but the last shot of the gallery is my favourite shot. Hit up the Photography section for that.

September 5, 2006::
A Tibetan update today. There's a travel diary from the Tibetan town of Labrang, which can be found in the Travels section. Additionally, there's a new photogallery online, entitled Chuck Jetsam, which is an allusion to quite possibly the funniest bad English I've ever read. I've only got the one gallery this time around, as my work in Tibet, I feel, is the best I've ever done. You can go find that gallery in the Photography section of the website. Cheers!

September 1, 2006::
It's hard to believe that it's September already! My time traversing the planet has come to a relatively uneventful and slow halt; I move on Sunday, and classes begin Tuesday. Anyhow, I'm looking to get as much online before I get overwhelmed with my studies, so I've got some more content from China online now. First off, a couple of travel diaries are now up; the first one is from Xi'an, and the second is from Lanzhou, though they both talk about the time I spent in Xi'an. Those can be read in the Travels section. Additionally, I've got a couple of new photogalleries from Xi'an online. The first is called Muslim Quarter, and, as such, contains a bunch of photos from Xi'an's Muslim Quarter (makes sense, eh?). I did my best to capture the vibrancy in the evening as well as the marketplace atmosphere in the daytime. The other gallery is entitled Doors, and is, quite simply, a collection of doors and the front of the humble abodes facing the city wall from the inside. These galleries can be found in the Photography section of the site. Enjoy!

August 28, 2006::
Howdy. Another travel diary summing up the rest of my time in Beijing (though written on a train just outside of Xi'an) is now online in the Travels section of the website. Also, there's a couple more photogalleries from Beijing. The first is entitled The Unknown Rebel, which is a collection of photos from in and around Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. The gallery itself is an homage to the "unknown rebel"; on June 5, 1989, an unidentified man stood in front of a threatening line of Chinese Type 59 tanks on Changan Dajie. The tanks were on their way to the Forbidden City in order to suppress the then-flourishing Chinese democracy movement. After a few minutes of impeding the tanks' progress, he was pulled away by the crowd, disappearing from the spotlight, and left only on the film roll of Associated Press photographer Jeff Widener. It's my hope that, someday, the youth of China will rise again in protest. The second gallery, entitled Hutongs, is a brief gallery depicting the alleys and cramped living quarters of those living in Beijing. These galleries can be seen in the Photography section.

August 20, 2006::
Second batch of updates from China are now up! First off, a travel diary from Beijing that covers the Wall, scorpions on a stick, and an interesting acrobatic show (I forgot to mention that before the show started, they were playing Michael Bolton songs in the theatre. Sweet.). That can be read in the Travels section of the site. On top of that, a couple of photogalleries; one's from the Great Wall at Mutianyu, and the other is from a shopping district somewhere in Beijing. Those can be checked out in the Photography section. Enjoy!

August 14, 2006::
Ni hao! I'm happy to announce that my long-awaited work from China is finally coming to your eyes! First off, I've got two travel diaries online; one from the third of June, my first morning in Beijing, and one from the fourth of June, which was after my first real day on the streets. Those can be found in the Travels section. On top of that, I've got a photogallery from Beijing. It's entitled The Beginning (how fitting), considering that was the title of the DJ Krush song that I could not stop listening to on our descent into Beijing Capital. I find it to be a good representation of the average lifestyle and community areas in the heart of this megalopolis. That gallery can be found over in the Photography section.

August 9, 2006::
It's a couple of days late, but I finished up a gallery meant as a sort of going-away present for Danielle. I've never been that great at putting things like this into sentences that make a great deal of sense, so I put together a collection of shots from her birthday a couple of months ago. Aptly-titled This Is Love, I feel it's a more personal and intimate view of my life, my hometown, and my love. You can head on over to the Photography section to view it. And, for those of you wondering when I'm getting to my work in China and Tibet, I assure you that it is coming very soon!

August 1, 2006::
It seems as though this year-long jaunt is nearly coming to an end; this past week, I was up in Prince Rupert and Kitamaat with my girlfriend and her family, and it was positively stunning. But, more on that in a few weeks when I actually get around to updating it. For now, I've got some updates from Edmonton. There's a travel diary summary of the brief excursion, as well as a couple of photo galleries: Dusk to Dawn, which is from the overnight drive up to Edmonton, and Oil Country, which is from the drive back to Vancouver. Those updates can be found in the Travels and Photography sections, respectively. Enjoy!

July 15, 2006::
I know, I know; I've been overly silent and unproductive over the past month or two. But I'm home, and full of free time! And, with all of this free time, I was able to put a bunch of new photography online. The first gallery is called Molasses, and is from my return trip to the Bacardi Distillery (commonly referred to as Heaven on Earth). Second, Colonialism Is Not Dead is a bit of a political statement regarding the development of Bahamian "culture" in the midst of overpowering consumerism and negative Western influences. I believe this gallery speaks for itself on many levels. Finally, Sinatra is a relatively substantial collection from a family excursion to the beautiful area of Eleuthera Island in The Bahamas. These galleries can all be seen in the Photography section! More to come in the coming weeks; promise!

June 23, 2006::
Greetings from Hong Kong! First of all, I want to apologise for the total lack of communication; it turns out that number1alien.com simply cannot be accessed in China. That's why I'm standing at a computer in a hotel lobby at 02.30 in the morning to bring you an update! Sadly, the update is travel diaries from the tail end of my Coachella adventure; one from the Fort Lauderdale airport, and the second one is about my little change of plans in Dallas-Fort Worth. Within a week or two, I should start easing the Chinese/Tibetan/Hong Kong content online, so stay tuned for that! In the meantime, head on over to the Travels section of the website for a little break in the silence. Cheers!

May 28, 2006::
After a little road trip excursion to Edmonton, I'm back and full of stuff to put online. Sadly, everything you're getting today is from San Francisco. But fret not! It's a huge bloody update: five photogalleries, and two travel diaries! The diaries are from Pebble Beach and Nassau, but they're all about my fabulous little time in Pebble Beach. Those fun little pieces can be checked out in the Travels section of the website. Now, as for the photos, we've got a lot to get through, so I'll be brief. Looking Up, the third gallery from the second of May, is a little collection of shots, well, looking up at things in the Financial District of San Francisco. Leslie Anne, the final from that day, is relatively nautical; lots of nighttime shots by the sea, as well as a couple of nearby street corners. Chat Lunatique is a cloudy day collection of urbanized living in San Francisco, with a subtle hint of politics. Some of my favourites from the entire trip are in that collection. A Month Away was a big realisation that I'm off to China soon (though, now instead of being a month away, it's a mere four days away), with a couple fun tunnel shots. Finally, Too Early is what happens when you're four hours early for your overnight flight to Dallas. All of those can be seen in the now-mammoth Photography section. Cheers!

May 22, 2006::
Update time! First up, we've got a travel diary from Oakland a couple of weeks back. I didn't actually visit Oakland (thankfully), we were just stopped at the bus depot there for a little while. That one can be read in the Travels section. I also tossed up two of four photo galleries from the first day in San Francisco. The first is entitled Embarcadero, and features a load of shots from Fisherman's Wharf, The Embarcadero, and nearby piers and whatnot. There's also a picture that makes me look like I'm wearing a skirt. Gallery the second is referred to as Unemployed. The name is taken from a sticker in the gallery, relating unemployment to bagels. Those galleries can be seen in the Photography section. Cheers!

May 18, 2006::
Crazy, crazy days. A last-minute trip to Edmonton in just under a week is now on the docket. Go figure. The sudden addition of a trip before I leave for China in two weeks means I need to really get off my ass here. And I have! Two new photo galleries from Victoria are up. The first is entitled Television, and is just the result of a haphazard walk around Downtown, Chinatown, some residential areas, and a nine-storey parking complex. The next one, from later on that evening, is called Rules The Nation (dig the Daft Punk reference?). Julie and I had some time to kill, so we took our cameras and shot streetlights and eachother. Pretty fun stuff. Those can be viewed in the Photography section. Also, another travel diary from San Francisco! It's from back on the third of May. You can read that little gem in the Travels section.

May 15, 2006::
I'm home once again, and boy, do I ever have a backlog of material here. The first of many photo galleries available in the coming weeks is now online, and it's from over a month ago! In our little photographic weekend, we had a chance to go to the Vancouver International Auto Show. There were a handful of pretty funky concept cars at the show, which were definitely my favourite to shoot. My personal favourites are the last handful of shots of the Suzuki concept, uh, box thing. It's pretty neat. That can be checked out in the Photography section. I also did some minor updates to the Travels section, just to list out where this trip took me. I didn't realise how much time I spent going from one place to another on this little excursion. Anyway, I've only got time for the travel route update and one gallery for today, but I wanted to ensure you all that I'm not totally dead and devoid of any desire to work. Expect tons more content in the coming weeks!

May 11, 2006::
Travel diary time! This time, it's an entry from the lovely little town of San Francisco! That was a real fun one to write, actually; I sat down in a park along The Embarcadero, which is a nice little road along the waterfront. You can go check out that nifty little diary entry in the Travels sectino of the website!

May 8, 2006::
Now that I'm in Nassau and have guaranteed internet access, I can provide a few more updates! I start with a diary recap of Coachella's second day, and, uh, yeah. That's it for today. That diary can be read in the Travels section, and expect a bunch more diaries this week! I promise.

May 2, 2006::
Three new travel diaries from the road! There's two new diaries from my handful of trips to Victoria recently, as well as the first diary from this trip, accounting for the first day at Coachella, and how I rode in a truck bed with Matt. Fun! Those can all be read and enjoyed in the Travels section of the website.

April 25, 2006::
Sorry about the lack of updates here. The computer was out of commission for a few days, because there's suddenly no carpet in my office. Yeah. Slightly problematic when trying to get some work done. Regardless, I hauled the box upstairs with the bare minimum needed to get things done (though, I have to say, having three computers in one room makes one a little warm), and got some much needed updating finished. First on the docket, three new photo galleries are online for your viewing pleasure. They were all shot with my cousin, Jared Euverman, and I'm hoping that sometime soon, all of his shots from this day make it online, as some of his shots are definitely jaw-dropping. The first gallery of mine is Wood/Water, aptly named for The Promise Ring's swan song. All of the shots remind me of the album's artwork. These were all taken down at the University of British Columbia, on some random beach. Not included is the guy that gave us a history lesson about the rock on Spanish Banks. Second is a gallery known as Chinatown, which has some spectacular shots of signs, mirrors, and SkyTrain tracks. Finally, Fun and Games documents a rainy Saturday evening down on Granville Street. All of those can be viewed in the Photography section. Also, coming within the next couple of days, updates from the Vancouver Auto Show, and Victoria. Finally, I leave on Friday morning for Indio, California, and I'll be kicking around various areas of California and the Bahamas for two weeks. Possible updates from Nassau? I'll try my best.

April 16, 2006::
Two new, totally local galleries this update time (weird, eh?). Despite the fact that I need to get out of town a little more these days, I still managed to fill up a few memory cards with an Aston Martin on a sunny day. If you're a car buff, you might want to go check those shots out while you've got a towel nearby. Also, at the beginning of the month, I had the pleasure of hauling my camera and my ass up to North Vancouver to take pictures for Rio Bent. I ended up taking well over 150+ photos, and about 35 of them turned out alright. There's definitely some keepers as far as live music shots go on there. All of those new photos can be seen in the Photography section of the website!

April 12, 2006::
I know it's been a while, but my cousin's been in town, so I was busy not sitting in front of the computer. What did happen, though, is a lot of photo taking! So there's a boatload of shots on the way. In the meantime, I finally finished putting up all of the photos from Europe! From Amsterdam, we've got Argentine Steak, which is a handful of nighttime shots throughout the city. Lamps, Heineken neons, traffic signs, and a halfpipe. Oh my! Three galleries from Brussels. The first is called The Drug Opera, lovingly named after a coffee shop in Brussels. I almost wish I was kidding, but it really provided for an awesome gallery title. Next up is Koopmansstraat, equally-lovingly-named, but this time after a street that I took the bulk of these shots on. At least, I think the bulk of the shots came from that street. I shall never know! But it makes for a nice collection of graffiti and couch cushion shots. Finally, Michael and Gudula is a collection of photos from the Saint Michael Cathedral in Brussels. You can go check all of these galleries out in the Photography section!

April 6, 2006::
More of an organisational update today. I'm sure some of you have noticed that the Previous Destinations page was getting a little bit unruly and long. I've since fixed that! Each country now has its' own dedicated page, so things are looking a little cleaner in that section now. I also updated some of the headings for a few cities, as I'd simply forgotten to update them whenever I added new photo galleries and whatnot. Anyhow! That's all for now. Ciao.

April 5, 2006::
Hello! I've got a wee bit of photography for all of you fabulous people; four galleries worth, in fact! Two from Prague, which is definitely the most beautiful city I've ever stepped foot in. One gallery, Shalom, is all a bunch of duotone shots in a Jewish cemetery in the Jewish Quarter. There's supposedly over 12,000 people buried in this tiny cemetery which hasn't had any new burials for the past couple of centuries. The other Prague gallery is Franze Kafky, named after Prague's most famous writer. It's a pretty random assortment of shots, but hey, I think they turned out not too shabby. Also now online are two galleries from Amsterdam! Gallery the first, Pannekoeken, is a homage to our awesome pannekoek breakfast that morning. Why I didn't take a picture of it is beyond me. There's some awesome graffiti shots in there, including a little bit of politics, as well as a busker impersonating The Mask. We also went to the Red Light District, which wielded a fun gallery full of sex, graffiti, and marijuana. Nice! I didn't know until after I left just how risky taking pictures is in this area; I've heard bodyguards have confiscated camera phones for less clear pictures than these. So, yeah, that's my adventurous side being unleashed there. You can go check all of these photos out in the Photography section!

April 3, 2006::
Before we get to the new content, I just want to say that it was a freakin' blast to be able to do some shots for the fabulous people that are otherwise known as Rio Bent last night. Once I have the time to sort through all of the photos (170+!), I'll definitely toss them online. Expect 'em in about a week, I'd imagine. In other news, four new galleries have just gone online! The first two are from Vienna; Royale (a brief collection from a royal summer palace covered in snow), and The Sound of Music (a more substantial gallery with a bunch of shots from our guided tour with the awesome/hilarious Hubert...and a few shots from a park at night, ending with a really cute shot of my parents). Also now online are two galleries from the absolutely jaw-dropping city of Prague: Karlovy Most and its' surrounding area on the side of the river we were situated on, and Neurotoxic, which is a continuation on the other side of the Charles Bridge. All of these galleries are online for viewing in the Photography section. Enjoy!

March 31, 2006::
Stop! It's photo time. Four galleries this go around, from Zürich and Vaduz. First is a gallery called Miles Davis, which is a homage to the fact that I finally got off my ass and purchased Kind Of Blue during that shoot. Line Twelve, whose title is obvious after the first photo, is essentially a continuation of the Miles Davis shoot after our hands warmed up. The trash can shot is one of my favourites. After that, probably one of the galleries I'm most proud to say is my work: F/3.5. I was definitely on that night. There's a few blurry shots, but the green picture (you'll know it when you see it) is the kind of shot I live to capture. Anyways. The last gallery is from a brief (15 minutes) walking tour of Vaduz with my mom, entitled Alpine. All of these galleries can be enjoyed in the Photography section! Oh, and in case you didn't notice, I changed up the welcoming image with some different languages. I think it's pretty sweet.

March 28, 2006::
It's been a while, so I figure it's time to give you kids a huge update. First of all, I updated my , seeing as I'm definitely not eighteen anymore. Next up, some travel diaries! They're both from Frankfurt airport, which I have now been through five times. Will I ever see Frankfurt? At this rate, probably not. Either way, go on over to the Travels section to read the last of the diaries from Europe. Also, another big photographic update this time around! Gallery the first, Closing Ceremonies, is a brief little collection of shots from the Closing Ceremonies at the Winter Olympics. It was hard to get a nice closeup of, well, anything, but I think some of the shots showing the entire arena are pretty surreal, especially if you watched the ceremony. After that, there's a gallery called Grapes, which is the first gallery from outside of Turin. It's a collection from our driving excursion, which took us through Villeneuve and Aigle, and these are all from one of a million vineyard areas surrounding Montreux. The largest gallery added today, Il B, is named after an awesome bar/lounge place just off the main drag in Montreux. There's no pictures of the place, though; just a lot of local graffiti (which is among the best on the planet, I think) and apartment buildings. Finally, Everyvice, which is just a brief collection of randomness in a Chinese/Japanese restaurant in Montreux. All of those can be found in the Photography section!

March 22, 2006::
Just a brief update today, but a very important one. I've updated the External section. I changed around the look a little bit, as well as added two more websites of incredible relevance in the world today; Amnesty International, an organisation working to protect human rights across the globe, and The Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan, which is a coalition of Afghan women working towards equal rights for women and a fundamentalist-free state of Afghanistan. For those wondering in the sudden prevalence in current events around here, the site has been enjoying increasing traffic over the past couple of months. In fact, traffic levels are at all-time highs (and, considering number1alien.com is celebrating it's fifth birthday soon, that's pretty huge for me), so I'm deciding to put the minds of my visitors to work. If you don't agree with my politics, that's cool. This is just my soapbox. Next time you'll hear from me, I'll be 19 years old and not feeling to well, so have a swell weekend, alright?

March 21, 2006::
A few days without an update is always a good thing for me. Especially today! I got the chance to add two travel diaries, both of which were written in Hagen, while staying at Carsten/Caroline's house. They would have been all one entry, but I was amazingly tired when I started writing it. It sums up our time in Brussels, as I didn't really get much of a chance to sit down there, let alone write anything. Those can be found in the Travels section. Also, there's four new photography galleries from Turin available for your viewing pleasure! The first is entitled How Do You Say?, and is just a random collection of shots nearby a square that I forget the name of. The actual square in question has a huge horseman statue in the middle of it, which you can see in the gallery. The next one is called Po, after the river featured in many of the shots. Also online is Happy Birthday, which, to be quite frank, I shot while I was pretty drunk. While wandering back to the hotel at about 02.00, I whipped out the camera and took this collection of shots. For the most part, they turned out pretty well, considering the, uh, adverse conditions of my head. Finally, there's a gallery called Egypt. It's full of a bunch of shots taken inside of Turin's Egyptian Museum, which apparently is one of the most comprehensive Egyptian historic museums in the world. Go figure. Those galleries can all be seen in the Photography section. And, last but not least, my awesomely artistic friend Cyn needs your help. She's got a design up for consideration to be printed onto a t-shirt on Threadless.com. So, please do her a huge favour and go vote for her design! That's all for now, folks.

March 17, 2006::
I know, I know. I always keep on saying I'll get tons of crap online immediately after I get home. And then it doesn't happen. So, I apologise. But, I'm home! And it feels real swell to be able to see my friends and familiar surroundings. Anyways, in terms of real news, I added two travel diaries from our two-night stint in Amsterdam. Real fun times over there. Those can be checked out in the Travels section. Additionally, there's a boatload of new photos: three new galleries! First up is a collection of shots inside Turin's Palasport Olimpico. That one includes a handful of pictures of Team Canada (I know, I know..) warming up before their game against the Italians. Next on the docket is Wonton Soup: a time-killing adventure Dad and I went on before we went to a hockey game later that afternoon. Last, but certainly not least, is a bunch of photos from an amazingly beautiful sunny day in Turin, entitled Seven Sunny Days. Bonus points if you can get the band reference in that one. All of those lovely new pictures are available in the Photography section! Enjoy the updates, and stay tuned for probably 25,000 more. O_o

Update time! This time from Prague. I've put up three travel diaries, meaning they're all up-to-date as of tonight! There's two from Vienna, which was my favourite city in Europe. That is, until we got into Prague, which there's also an entry from. Do romp on over to the Travels section, and enjoy some swell reading content. Thanks! :)

March 5, 2006::
Greetings from Vienna, which I'm christening one of the most beautiful cities in Europe (and I guess that doesn't really mean much, as I stake that claim a whole lot). I got the chance to add a whole bunch of travel diaries (though, none from Vienna just yet..I'm a few days behind on this stuff, as you can tell). The first two are from our two nights in Montreux, the third is from Zürich, and the last was from our hour-long excursion to Liechtenstein (more commonly known as the country with more dollars per square kilometre than any other nation on the planet). There's plenty of solid reading material, so do yourself a favour and check out the Travels section of the website! If you're curious where I'm off to next, we're driving through Bratislava, Slovakia for lunch and/or coffee, and spending the night (and the next night) in Prague. Definitely been looking forward to this part for a long, long time. Ciao!

March 3, 2006::
Amazingly brief update today. I just brought the Travels section up to date. That includes the little mileage counter, the Miles Travelled page, the Previous Destinations page, and yeah. And I would like to add that it's fun to have a day where you drive through four different countries (Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, and Germany). It was a big couple of days of driving, and we're finally going to rest (briefly) in Vienna tomorrow night and the night after. For music buffs like myself and my mother, I'd say Vienna is the kind of place you want to stick around in for a little bit. Auf wiedersehn.

March 2, 2006::
Thanks to the help of Matt (a god among men!), I've been able to get some of my photography online! I added a gallery from Hallmark Day, entitled Garibaldi (as in the name of the street that the entire gallery was taken on), which has some nice nighttime shots of downtown Turin on our first day there. They probably would have turned out nicer had I not been so jet-lagged. Regardless, I think they turned out pretty well, considering the circumstances. That bunch of photos can be seen in the Photography section of the site. Also, I added a mammoth of a travel diary entry that I wrote in Milano Centrale (for those that have a shitty grip on foreign languages, that would be Milan's central train station). All kinds of fun stuff (well, fun is relative) happened in the first hour and a half in Milan, and it doesn't really motivate me to go back. Knowing me, though, I probably will. Either way, that little bit o' fun can be checked out in the Travels section. As for where I am now? Zürich, Switzerland is my temporary home. We'll leave tomorrow, boot it through Liechtenstein, and stay somewhere in western or central Austria. Vienna awaits us the day after tomorrow.

February 27, 2006::
What a crazy week it's been. I've been on television, gave a flag to Mats Sundin, and got hauled into a Polizia interrogation office in Milan (though the best parts are coming another day, I promise). As for a brief update on my location, I'm now in the town of Montreux, which is on the eastern edge of Lake Leman in Switzerland. After taking the train from Turin to Milan to Geneva, Dad and I rented a car and drove 95 kilometres to this beautiful little area. Tomorrow is my first real day here to sort of take it easy before we head out for two weeks. Anyways, enough about Montreux! I've got an update to promote here. I tossed online three (well, two..one doesn't really count) travel diaries from the Olympics. Lots of good hockey-related stories, I assure you. You can go read them all in the Travels section of the website. Au revoir!

February 21, 2006::
From the game against Finland, right after the second goal:

Not the most flattering of pictures, I'd say. But I was still on CBC for the second time!

February 20, 2006::
I'm sure I'm not the only Canadian out there nearly in full panic mode right now. The way our Men's Hockey team is playing is pretty difficult to watch. The game against Switzerland was actually great (minus the part where we didn't score), but tonight's effort was crap. Uh, anyway, I had some time to write up a couple of travel diaries, the first of which I wrote inside Torino Espozioni right before the Sweden/USA game started. The second one was just now, sitting on the bed, while half-watching a cross country skiing race on television. You can go read the new goodies in the Travels section!

February 18, 2006::
We meet again! I'm here to let you know how amazing Torino is. Yeah. Really amazing. I have such an eloquent way with the English language, don't I? Anyhow, there's two new travel diaries online now! One recaps the sixteenth, which included two hockey games (Sverige/Rossija and Canada/Deutschland...one of which I really, really don't want to talk about). The other entry was about today, which was one of our free days here in Italia. Dad was busy (as usual), so I went out on my own for some fun explorations. So, please head on over to the Travels section of the website, and do get some reading done! And, two closing notes. One: if your name is Jaryt, Steve, or Amelie, and you generally recieve postcards from me, I dropped all three of yours in the mail today. Whether they'll get there is totally unknown, but I tried. Two: how about that Sweden game today? Wow. That's kind of a scary lead-in to the men's game against the Swiss, which you should all watch on CBC. Go Canada!

February 15, 2006::
Ciao! This is the first of (hopefully) many updates from Turin, though none of them will involve photography. I wrote up a little entry on the plane from Frankfurt to Turin yesterday afternoon, and I just put on a game account and other thoughts about today at the Olympic Winter Games. I've only gone to one game today, which was Canada's 7-2 win over Italia. Right about now, we're heading out to the game between the United States and Latvija. Should be a fun one! Anyways, do head on over to the Travels section of the website to read a couple of entries about the trip so far. Arrivaderci!

February 13, 2006::
Because I'm about to leave for thirty days, I owe a huge update. So, here it is; the biggest update since the relaunch! There's a whole boatload of Ottawa stuff coming online tonight. First, there's five travel diaries! Four are from Ottawa, and one's from Toronto. Towards the end, they get relatively whiny. Well, in a political sense, at least, so it's probably a little bit more fun to read that way. Lots of good reading material now over in the Travels section. Speaking of Travels, everything's up-to-date with the first half of my upcoming trip, which I leave today for! Now, as for some Photography, there's SIX new galleries going online today. Yeah, six! That's a whole shitload, isn't it? Gallery number one is a self-explanatory collection from Parliament Hill, including the hideout for political felines around back. Next up, we've got a collection called Fire Exits, which, amongst fire escapes, includes some very "Canadian" shots. It's hard to describe as a whole, but I'm sure once you take a look at some of the shots, you'll get what I"m saying here. Number three: Men At Work. Despite the fact that the first weekend of Winterlude in Ottawa was an absolute joke, I got some amazing shots out of the deal. The fourth gallery? Space Invaders! While I was there, there was a whole bunch of space invader graffiti around Rideau Street. I also tossed in a few neat random graffiti photos as well. Five! Parc! Which is the French translation of the word "park". Yeah, I know, I'm a real French scholar like that. That one has some shots of a park over in Gatineau, as well as a corner store and a fountain. Oh, and proof that even though Ontario has the Parliament buildings and whatnot, Québec gets the better view. And, finally, the last gallery is called Sussex, which (unsurprisingly) is a collection of shots on and around Ottawa's Sussex Drive, which is home of a million government buildings and embassies. Also making a guest appearance in that one is the Iraqi Embassy. No kidding! Anyhow, that's all for this massive update. I've got a plane to catch! Ciao!

February 11, 2006::
First of all today, there's some Victoria-related content. A travel diary to document the day I hung out with Alex in Victoria, as well as a photogallery called Hyperbolic Tangent, which is officially the geekiest title yet, but has some fabulous shots of Victoria/Oak Bay's Beacon Hill Park. It's a really beautiful area, and I'm sure thousands of people have considered it a great place to take your date to make out. Well, unless the pigeons are surrounding your vehicle. That was pretty fucking terrifying, let me tell you. Uh, anyways, I also added a photogallery from my three-hour Layover in Toronto's Pearson Airport, which is fast becoming my favourite airport in the world. There's some great shots in that gallery there that I'm really proud to call my own. Anyhow, that's all for today. Expect a huge Ottawa update before I leave!

February 9, 2006::
A brief-ish update today. In attempting to move in chronological order, the content from Grande Prairie is now online. There one travel diary that I wrote on the plane to Calgary on my way back home, with some odd thoughts on what happened over there. There's also a photography gallery called Ancient Shiraz, as we drank a whole lot of wine that night. Nothing heavy in there, I promise. Just wine glasses and dessert trays. It also features five images I robbed off of Jared's camera! For those of you not in the know, Jared is stuffing himself (camera included) into my suitcase for a 25-day excursion to China in June. Anyhow, all that new content can be found in the Travels and Photography sections of the website. Enjoy!

February 8, 2006::
I'm home from Ottawa! It's been a hectic couple of weeks, and this one isn't any different. So, to start it off, I've put online the rest of the photography and travel diaries from the United Kingdom! There's three travel diaries; one from Bristol, one from Exmouth, and a closing bit from London. Those can be read in the Travels section of the website. For photography, there's two new galleries from Bristol. The first is called Unfinished Sympathy, which is just a random assortment from around the city (and, for those wondering, no, I did not listen to anything else besides Massive Attack in Bristol). The second one is entitled Four Stars, and is an experimental group of angles from my hotel room in Bristol. It's not often you get upgraded to a swanky room like this for free, so I had to take some pictures. All of that madness can be checked out in the Photography section. Also, I made some minor updates to the Travels section, including the Miles Travelled section, and its' accompanying mileage counter (because you were all worried, I know). Look for a ton more updates before I leave again on Monday afternoon!

February 6, 2006::
Hey! What do you know? An update from the road! It's absolutely freezing outside, so I took the time to add four travel diary entries to the website. There's some stories from my travel, well, evening, I guess, as well as my first two days here in Ottawa. Sadly, I don't have enough time to type up the rest of the entries I've got waiting to be typed up, but I'll get to that once I get home. Anyhow, I'm off. I've got a Senators game to go to! Go read the new travel diaries in the Travels section.

January 31, 2006::
Wow. Talk about hectic. After some family business, some semi-pornographic independent films, and some heart-stopping (literally) German cuisine, I've found some time to toss a whole bunch more stuff online from my adventures in the UK! First off, a couple more travel diaries to feast upon. One's a little update after I saw The Juliana Theory kick London's ass, and the other is from my relatively relaxing day in Wales. In terms of visual goodies, there's four more galleries of shots online! One is from London (Chow Mein: some shots from London's Chinatown and Soho districts), two are from the Welsh capital of Cardiff (Ar Unrhyw Adeg: a tribute to the amazingly weird language that is Welsh, and other random angles from downtown Cardiff...and there's also a gallery of shots from Cardiff Castle), and the first of my collections from Bristol (Future Proof: a highly-weathered cathedral around the corner from Temple Meads...I bet you can't tell that I was listening to Massive Attack all freaking day). And also, I added another little page to the Travels section; if you click on the headline Miles travelled, then you can see a nice chronological list of the trips I've made this year. Geeky statistical addition? Sure, but it's my site, and I'll do whatever the hell I want. So there. You can find all of the new updates in the Travels and Photography sections of the website.

January 22, 2006::
I've been home from England and Wales for a few days now, and I have to say it was a ton of fun. Even though my life's been pretty crazy ever since I got home a few days ago, I finally got some time to make some updates. And, considering how long it takes me to update things lately, I decided to make this one a really substantial one! First of all, there's some reading material: three days worth of travel diaries are now online! They go on about all of my time preceding the night I saw The Juliana Theory show in London, so make sure you go read those. Also, I added a whopping four photography galleries. Yes! The first one is called A Hard Day's Night, and has a whole load of random shots I took around the Royal Mile, Hyde Park, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, and outside my window at the hostel. The next three are all from the 13th: Westminster (shots from Parliament Square, the River Thames, the London Eye, and surrounding areas), The Tube (photos from inside of the Westminster tube station, unsurprisingly), and By Night (a collection from atop the London Eye). All of those can be found in the Photography section of the website! Oh, and this last one's really minor, but on the Travels section, I started a little counter for the miles I've travelled along since July 1, 2005. Someday real soon, when you click on the words Miles Travelled, there'll be a fancy list of the trips from this year, but not yet.

January 11, 2006::
I told you I'd get it all done before I left! First of all, the remaining travel diaries are up, where you can read up about the Canucks/Rangers game, and my unfortunate flight cancellation. Some fun stories in there, for sure. Also, there's a wee bit of photography going up, as well! From the 13th, there's a small collection of shots that I took from Floor 13 of the Gershwin Hotel (er, except for the first one). And, on the 15th, there's some early morning airport shots, including the best photo I've ever taken towards the end (see: the thumbnail on the main photography page), inside a gallery I call 0500 Hours. Please go check all the new content out! You know, something to tide you over while I head off to jolly old England (and Wales!) today. Bye, now!

January 8, 2006::
Ugh. Sorry about being so slow about updating with the New York stuff. I've just had more of a life with all my friends around, and having friends introduce me to new friends, and it's this endless social cycle where I come home at 2 or 3 in the morning every night. Not that I'm complaining, just justifying. Anyways! This is a really big update, so get stoked. First of all, some new travel diaries from three days worth of exploration and whatnot. So go read all the fabulous new reading material in the Travels section of the website. Once you're done with that, you can pop over to the Photography section for three new galleries worth of stuff. From the 10th, there's a collection called Times Two, which is the second time where I took my camera out in Times Square (though, Bailey was there this time around, so it was a little more fun). From the 12th, there's two galleries. The first is from Coney Island, and, for any Death Cab For Cutie fans keeping track, yes, everything was closed at Coney Island. This gallery is up amongst my overall favourites, because there's some great colours and urban decay going on. Awesome. The second one is from The Bronx, which is slightly less interesting, but there's a pretty wicked shot of a courthouse in there. So, go check out all of the new content, and I promise I'll have all of the NYC stuff finally up (there's only a little bit more, I promise) before I leave for London on Wednesday.

January 1, 2006::
First of all, happy new year to everyone! Hopefully your evenings were fun, and that this upcoming year is the best year of your life. In other actual news, I've put up some photography to start the new year off right. Both are galleries from December 10th (another one of those 100+ photo days), during which Bailey was there the entire time. That was pretty fun. The first one is called A Day in the Park, which has a whole bunch of shots from Central Park, a couple from a random subway station, and other things. The other is a bunch of shots from Rockefeller Center. Pretty self-explanatory, I think. You can head on over to the Photography section of the website to go take a look. Oh, and one other thing! If you're wondering where I'm off to next, I'll be in England and Wales from January 11 through 19.

December 24, 2005::
Just in time for Christmas; a huge update! First, we've got two more galleries' worth of photography from the ninth, bringing it to four galleries from that day alone (yeah, I went a bit nuts with the camera in NYC). The first one's called Christmas on the Wall, which has some nice shots of the christmas tree at the NYSE and all of my adventures that evening leading up to Times Square, which is a whole different gallery of everything bright, flashy, and wrong with the world. To go along with those, I've added travel diaries up through the end of my big day of photography in New York. So, go check out the photos and diaries, and have yourself a merry little christmas.

December 20, 2005::
I apologise for being so slow on the updates. My week in New York was all kinds of fabulous. Over 200 photos, as well as some journal entries, are most definitely on the way. I'm going to get started with that right now, with two new photography galleries! They're both from my first full day in New York; one is called Blue Skies (and broken hearts), and has a bunch of photos from all around Manhattan, the subway, and a couple parks. The other is called Liberty and Immigration (for all), and that's from in and around the Liberty and Ellis Islands in the city. Go check 'em out! :)

December 8, 2005::
I'm off to New York. I'll be arriving back in Vancouver late Wednesday night at about 10 after midnight (so, technically Thursday morning), if anyone wants to come pick me up.

December 6, 2005::
It's been slow in terms of worthy updates, so I decided to toss something fun on this here News page. You'll notice two new images; an overall chart and a weekly chart. They're charts for what I listen to at my computer. It's a pretty novel idea, I think. If you want to get charts like that (as well as a profile that keeps track of what you listen to; my profile is here), then you can head on over to Last.fm. In other news, I leave Thursday morning. If anyone wants to come pick me up from YVR on the 14th, let me know.

December 3, 2005::
Over the last couple of days, I replaced my old camera (R.I.P.) that had lasted me the past three years. But, alas, a simple point-and-shoot digital can only do me so much good. I'm happy to report that I've since upgraded to a Nikon D50. The lens in the box is decent (18-55mm), but I wouldn't mind upgrading to a good quality (and price) zoom lens soon. Anyways, the last series that I shot with my old camera is now online; it's entitled Martian Sunset, and it's a brief little mid-November experiment with a sunset. And, to ring in the legacy (gosh, I make this sound so important, don't I?) of my new camera, I played around with it earlier today, and tossed those shots in a gallery entitled Autofocus Off; there's some nice shots of some snow, my dog, a piano, some sugar, cigarettes, and a brightly-coloured martini (which, for the record, was excellent). Go check these galleries out in the Photography section. Oh, and just so you all know, I will be in New York City from December 8 - 14.

November 28, 2005::
Sorry about the sudden silence. To be honest, I had a pretty shitty week, and I wasn't really motivated to do anything at all. I finally decided to pick myself up, dust myself off, and put up some more work from Chicago. The first gallery is entitled 412m, which is the height at which the Sears Tower Skydeck sits. That one has a few sunset shots and a skyline shot from the Tower, as well as a couple other random photos from the day. The second gallery is called Death and Baseball, and it's got a couple photos of Wrigley Field and a nearby cemetery. Cheerful, eh? Go take a look in the Photography section of the website. Oh, and I slightly edited my Biography.

November 21, 2005::
More Chicago photography! There's some more stuff up now from my first full day (well, they're from the evening, anyway); Electrostatic Induction showcases Chicago's incredible city lights. Two days after that, I went to the Chicago Institute of Art, which has an amazing collection of contemporary, modern, and Asian art. Go hit up the Photography section to check them all out! Also, this definitely isn't a huge late addition, but I added a table listing the countries I've visited on the Previous Destinations page over in the Travels section, to make for easier browsing between destination to destination.

November 19, 2005::
It's kind of a minor update, but I finally got around to fixing up that Previous Destinations page in the Travels section. It (for the most part...there's a couple with dates that I just can't remember or find out) lists when I've been where, and any corresponding travel diaries and photography galleries. It's not so big an update, but it's a convenient one, for sure.

November 18, 2005::
This is the first photographic update for my Chicago trip! I added some photos from Chicago O'Hare International Airport, which is simultaneously the coolest and most confusing airport on the planet. I also added ton of photos from all over downtown Chicago, including some parks, a boat ride, and tons of neat skyscrapers. Please go check them out in the Photography section!

November 17, 2005::
A couple of updates this afternoon. First, a couple of edits to the Biography section. Second, and far more importantly, I added two crucial links to the External section; the first is the Canada Haiti Action Network, a group attempting to raise awareness and question Canadian involvement in Haiti, and the second is StopWar.ca, a loose coalition of organisations that oppose current military operations in Iraq, Palestine, Haiti, and Colombia (amongst others). I urge you to visit these websites and learn about what's happening in the world's less fortunate countries; questioning authority is the greatest thing one can do at a time like this. Thank you.

November 17, 2005::
Alright, no pictures just yet, but I got the diaries up, at least. I've been working on the photos all night, but there's just too many to get done tonight. In the meantime, head on over to the Travels section and check out some travel diaries from each day of my trip!

November 14, 2005::
I'm home! I think I had access to a computer once the entire trip, so I'm sorry about the lack of updates while I was gone. I'm going to add some recounting of the events in the Travels section (as well as 150+ photos!) over the next couple of days. All you need to know right now is that it was definitely one of the best weeks of my life.

November 8, 2005::
Well, my trip to Chicago is starting off well; I'm not even there yet! Mini travel diary up now in the Travels section.

November 5, 2005::
Woo! They're finally all DONE! I just tossed up the remaining eight or so pictures from my excursion to Santa Barbara (two of which are actually from the drive home in Oregon), as well as 55 shots from The Juliana Theory's most recent show in Seattle. Please head on over to the Photography section of the website and check all of them out. Go!

November 1, 2005::
Man, I'm slow with this shit. But, I have a good excuse. On Friday night, I was taking pictures at the TJT show. I took 100+, kept 80, and I'm whittling it down to the good ones now. In the meantime, I have a few more from California. I took a whole bunch in Julie's favourite Danish town, Solvang (entitled Feeling Danish...really, really lame title, shut up), and even more in my first venture into Los Angeles (entitled City of Angels, and probably equally as lamely titled...again, shut up) in three and a half years. There's some really great ones, especially in the LA set, including a very Nothing Feels Good-esque shot of a ferris wheel in Santa Monica. Very neat. Anyways, head on over to the Photography section and check them out!

October 27, 2005::
I've been a little busy the last couple of days, but I finally had some time to add a couple more galleries-worth of photos. They're both from driving days, because the trek to California isn't a quick one, especially if you drive down the 101 and the 1. Anyhow, there's pictures from driving through Northern California on the 8th, as well as ones from Pebble Beach (specifically, 17 Mile Drive, a Chinese restaurant, some seals, and Cambria, which is nowhere near Pebble Beach). Anyways, I hope you enjoy them, and you can go look at them over in the Photography section of the website.

October 24, 2005::
Alright, so I got off to a good start, and two new Photography galleries! They're both from the first two days of driving on the 6th and 7th. The first one is a bunch of pictures from Washington (with a couple in Oregon, and the unfortunate beginning of my camera lens' demise), and the second one is all Oregon photos. Please go take a look! I'll be adding more photos in the coming days, too. :)

October 23, 2005::
So, I'm home. 17 days on the road, and now we're back. I have a boatload of pictures to put up, so watch this space for a ton of photographs in the next little while. Also, I see The Juliana Theory on Friday, and I'm pretty sure I'm taking some pictures at the show. Wicked!

October 20, 2005::
Well, I guess I needed to write up a little summation-type entry of the trip, seeing as we leave Santa Barbara in under twelve hours from this exact moment. I'm excited to go back home, but I don't want to leave. Just like last time, kind of. Anyways, you can see the whole thing over in the Travels section of the website.

October 17, 2005::
I just wrote up a nice, long travel diary for you to all digest happily. Go read it over in the Travels section, mkay?

October 14, 2005::
I went into Los Angeles for the first time since February 2002 today! It was pretty satisfying. Satisfying enough that I wrote up a travel diary because of it all. Nice! Go read it in the Travels section.

October 13, 2005::
Travel diary time! Go read it in the Travels section of the site.

October 10, 2005::
New "travel diary". Okay, it's actually just me complaining about how anything electrical has a personal vendetta for me or something.

October 9, 2005::
We finally got into Santa Barbara about, oh, three hours ago. It's been a loooooooong few days, but we got the job done. I summed it all up in a nice big fat travel diary in the Travels section. Go read it!

October 6, 2005::
It's nice and early (02:03) on Thursday. I'm just heading to bed, as I have to get up in about five hours to leave for sunny Southern California! Expect a whole load of updates while I'm gone. Promise! :)

September 29, 2005::
Finally! All of the photos I took in Montreal and Quebec are finally up. I just added three more galleries worth of pictures; Exploring Downtown, which is a collection of photos from the more modern parts of Quebec City, Lights and Sounds, which is just sort of a random assortment of experiments with lighting in the Quebec train station and in downtowm Montreal late at night, and In Transit, which is just a bunch of pictures I took on the plane ride home. Enjoy them all in the Photography section!

September 26, 2005::
I added yet two more galleries of pictures, this time from Québec City. The first one (Exploring Québec City) is just a slough of random photos from my first evening/night in the city, including some awesome statue shots, night photography, and a picture of me, taken by that nice American couple I met. The second one (Without Tourist Traps) includes some photos from a park in the foggy morning, and a bunch of some brightly painted buildings. Now one of my favourite photographs that I've ever taken, the yellow door photo is definitely worth checking out in that gallery. Also, these galleries feature a few panoramic shots, which turned out pretty awesome. Go check everything new out in the Photography section of the website!

September 22, 2005::
I got around to adding two more photo galleries from Montréal! One has a bunch of photos from around the city, including a residential street with some brightly coloured apartments (entitled Old Town and Alleys), and one full of pictures I took on the train ride to Québec City. Please go check them both out in the Photography section of the site, and keep your eyes peeled for a few more galleries from back East!

September 18, 2005::
The first two galleries of photos from Montreal are now online! There's two sets (both from September 10); one is called Around Town, and the other was at the Botanical Gardens. Go check 'em out in the Photography section!

September 16, 2005::
I'm home! And I took 211 pictures. And I'm going to add them all to the site (I think). There'll be a handful of galleries (10, maybe?), so it won't all go up at the same time. But all before I go to California. Promise!

September 13, 2005::
Yeah, you guessed it. New travel diary. This is almost getting boring, isn't it? Hit up the Travels section.

September 12, 2005::
I'm alive and well, and now I'm in Québec City! It's really exceptionally beautiful; go see what I have to say about the day in the Travels section of the site.

September 11, 2005::
Wrote up another daily entry for the Travels section of the site.

September 10, 2005::
Yet another one! I put a full recap of today in the Travels section.

Okay, I wrote up an actually decent travel diary this time, so you can go check it out in the Travels.

Wrote up a (brief as all hell) travel diary. I'll put up something better when I'm less hungry.

September 8, 2005::
Welcome to the completely rebuilt Number1Alien.com! After two years of minimal activity, I decided it was time to resurrect what used to be a pretty lively website. It's going to be a little bit different this time around, though. The old site was pretty comprehensive, with a ton of different sections that were shoddily kept. This time, as you can see, there's only a small handful of sections, with two of them (Photography and Travels) being the whole basis of the site. I've basically turned this into a travel diary that I can use while I'm away from Vancouver, complete with a tonne of photos I've taken just about everywhere. Anyways, have yourself a look around, and let me know what you think of the new design (look down for the Contact page).

And, for the record, the following pages aren't 100% finished yet: the Read archived travel diaries page (because I haven't written any yet :P), the Guestbook (because I really need to code a new one), and the Browse previous destinations page (because it's going to take a loooong time). There's still plenty to look at on the Photography page, and I leave for Montreal on Friday morning, so there'll be some diaries to come. Promise!
